How it Works: Inhibits the fungal enzyme P450-dependent demethylase, disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane.
Usage & Safety Dosage: Dosage depends heavily on the infection; typically 100 mg to 200 mg once or twice daily. Take immediately after a full meal to ensure maximum absorption.
Side Effects: Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache. Risk of liver toxicity and heart failure (especially with certain drug interactions).
